Explanation of Divisions

*CheerTime Athletics has the right to combine divisions or SPLIT divisions based on registrations to give teams the best competitive division possible.

DIVISIONS

  • Building /Non Building/Non Tumble/Game Day divisions will ALWAYS be split
  • Once registration deadline has passed we will separate divisions by size when possible.
  • If you have athletes who compete Varsity at any time of the year, they must compete in the Varsity Division

Explanation of Competitive Categories

Time Limit

Routine requirements

NON-TUMBLING

Absolutely no tumbling or stunting. Focus on dance, jumps and strong motion technique.

May not exceed 2:30 total.  Music portion should not exceed 1:30

Must include atleast one cheer, one chant, and one dance section. Props are highly encouraged.

NON-BUILDING

Absolutely no building skills. Focus on  a variety of jumps, tumbling, motions and dance

May not exceed 2:30 total.  Music portion should not exceed 1:30

Must include atleast one cheer, one chant, and one dance section. Props are highly encouraged.

BUILDING

Focus on jumps, tumbling, motions, dance and BUILDING skills

May not exceed 2:30 total.  Music portion should not exceed 1:30

Must include atleast one cheer, one chant, and one dance section. Building must include one connected stunt (pyramid) one toss, and 3 additional stunts.  Props are highly encouraged.

GAME DAY

Absolutely no building Focus on Game Day cheer technique (motions, jumps, tumbling, crowd involvement with props)

May not exceed 3 minutes.

Must include Band Dance, Chant, Crowd Cheer, and Fight Song in this order.  Props are highly encouraged.

HIP-HOP

Street style movements may include but are not limited to breaking, popping, locking, krumping, etc.

May not exceed 2 minutes.

Must Include focus on synchronized movement and footwork with incorporations such as jumps, combo jumps, stalls and floor work. No props.
